PMP provided project monitoring on behalf of StayCity for the development of its second StayCity Aparthotel in Manchester.
The 224-key Aparthotel, with recognised StayCity interior design, is set over nine stories and had a budget cost of £17m. The concept provides guests with spacious bedroom spaces, a separate lounge and fully equipped kitchen areas, providing ample space to work, rest and play for a variety of clientele.
The project monitoring role involved PMP reporting to the client on the quality and progress of the development, providing detailed and accurate reporting information every month. Through this role, the client had a local expert to ensure that its investment was in safe hands and would meet the criteria that allowed them to operate as planned when the development completed.
The project faced challenges when the original contractor went into liquidation, and the process of identifying and appointing a new contractor disrupted the programme, however PMP worked with the team to help minimise the overall impact of this and the hotel is now open and operational.
