People often tell us that they want to work with us because of our culture and our people. And in our business; it’s not all business.

If you’ve ever been to one of our events or visited our offices, you’ll understand that our philosophy is that we want to have an impact on our communities in more ways than most.

We get involved in projects that go beyond the scope of the day-to-day job and we enjoy the opportunity to get involved with social projects, sponsorship opportunities and mentoring and the world around us.

CREATING AND FOSTERING NEW TALENT

Director at PMP, Laura Banks is no stranger to the classroom as the past Chair of Women in Property Central Scotland branch. She regularly co-ordinates opportunities for herself, colleagues and others working in the industry to get into the classroom and help children and young people to see opportunities in the construction industry with a particular focus on getting more girls into the sector. Creating opportunities for young people of all genders is important to us and we are delighted to help promote and drive diversity in our industry.

SUPPORTING THE SPORTS

We believe in helping where we can and in the power of sport and teamwork. We are therefore delighted to support many teams in a variety of sport including football, golf, rugby, tennis and hockey. We are the proud sponsors of a number of football teams in our time including Marple Athletic Girls FC. PMP has sponsored the team for two consecutive seasons and have committed to a further two seasons.

We also sponsored the kit for the Daventry Ladies Hockey Team. The full team were kitted out for their new season which coincided with the team starting in a new League following promotion.

PMP SPONSOR SCOTTISH PROPERTY AWARDS

We proudly sponsors the Scottish Property Awards with the coveted PMP Deal of the Year. This is one of the industry’s most reputable events with PMP supporting this event year on year. It is an annual celebration of Scottish property and brings together the people behind the deals who are changing landscapes in our built environment. The prize, named the PMP Deal of the Year, this award recognises outstanding deals completed in 2022 in commercial and public real estate.

GETTING STUCK IN

We know that our work impacts on those around us and we each have a part to play in our communities. Volunteering is an opportunity for us to get out of the office as a team as well as helping essential community projects. PMP got green fingered when we spent a day helping to landscape the gardens of Willow Wood Hospice. The team spirit allowed us to get stuck in and we were humbled to be able to give some assistance to the hospice that helps so many as a palliative care provider.

TRAINING YOUNG PROFESSIONALS

We support a number of RICS Matrics events throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK. We provide practical support by volunteering to train young professionals with guest speakers from our company, many of whom are Chartered and can share their experience with young professionals and professionals heading towards Chartership. We have also provided sponsorship of the events to support these networking opportunities and our recognised industry body.

NETWORKING & SPEAKER OPPORTUNITIES

Representatives from PMP frequently attend networking and speaker opportunities with multiple stakeholders. Most recently Guy Crouch attended the Regeneration Brainery event to hear from ambassadors on their journey and to speak to college students looking to start a career in the built environment. From guest lectures to one-to-one mentoring, our professionals attend schools, colleges, universities and career events to speak and engage with the next generation of building surveyors, project managers, quantity surveyors and cost managers.

The Late Summer Charity Ball

The Late Summer Charity Ball in aid of charity partner Mustard Tree, which works to combat poverty and prevent homelessness, was held in Manchester to bring together professionals across the construction and property sector. Superbly supported by sponsors and professionals, the inaugural ball was a roaring success with planning underway for Summer 2024.
