PMP dig deep to transform sensory garden for children’s school

PMP’s Annual Community Volunteering Day took the team to Chadderton’s Kingfisher Special School. The Manchester team embarked on a day of digging, planting, painting and creating the school’s sensory garden and the results are impressive.

Swapping computers and surveys for their paint brushes and spades, the area was in need of a full overhaul, redecoration, gardening and jet washing. The team created a new reading area by removing overgrown bushes and brambles before screening off and re-surfacing the area.

Elaine Brocklehurst brought her artistic talents to the garden while the whole team dug deep to ensure that the children have a new garden to enjoy in September.

Ben Walker, Head of PMP Manchester, said: “I can’t think of a better opportunity for team building than volunteering for the day. Everyone joined in from our office and the new garden will make a real difference to the children allowing them to enjoy this new space.”

The team was thanked by the staff who are blown away by the transformation. The children will return to the school in September with teachers already preparing for activities after summer by utilising their new garden.
