Retail / Offices Artizan Centre, Dumbarton

Client:
Dunedin Property

Location:
Dumbarton

Budget:
confidential

Status:
completed / ongoing

We were commissioned by Dunedin Property as part of an ongoing process to upgrade office and retail facilities at the Artizan Centre in Dumbarton.
The project had various aspects, the first being an enhancement of the urban realm of the open mall. This involved the design of bespoke street furniture, hard and soft landscaping, means of enclosure and portable kiosk units.

Alongside this was the conversion of storage areas to office space and associated  reworking of retail units. Although modest in ambition the office conversion was an exercise in innovatively meeting tight budget constraints.

We achieved this through targeting spend on key areas whilst driving out cost from areas of less importance whilst employing inventive solutions to re-organise the building’s restrictive structure and geometry.

PMP Architecture’s ongoing research into sustainable issues allowed us to adopt an affordable application of a green agenda to minimize heat loss and running costs.
